Elizabeth Jennings was an English poet born in Boston, Lincolnshire, on 18th July 1926.

When Jennings was six years old her family relocated to Oxford, England, where she lived for the rest of her life. While Jennings' poetry was not initially seen as autobiographical, her later work became more personal.
